Children have different ways of knowing and doing, different strengths and different talents. At All About Children Child Care, Sylvia Park, we understand this. Our curriculum is guided by the Ministry of Education’s Te Whariki framework but individualised for every child.
Our passionate Child Care educators pride themselves in delivering open-ended, play-based learning experiences that lays the foundation for future learning. Outings, centre-based activities and community interactions add further flavour to our curriculum.
The Owlets Room (0 to 18 months)
These are the three aspects that define our philosophy in the Owlets room. Through primary caregiving we ensure an authentic bond between your child and their carer. We recognise each child as an individual and cater to their unique needs. Your child will be welcomed each day to become immersed in varied learning experiences. Owlet’s teachers respect and understand our children’s various developmental stages, their interests and their voice, and plan accordingly. We offer a home away from home for your precious tamariki to thrive in and find a place where they belong.

The Pukekos Room (18 months - 3 years)
In the Pukekos room we strive to provide an environment where your children feel empowered and encouraged to explore within a safe and challenging environment. We work alongside parents and whanau to develop loving and caring relationships that enable us to get to know you and your child.
These relationships help us to plan for your child’s learning and interests while they are here with us in the Pukeko room, taking in to consideration your child’s unique individuality. Our kaiako aim to ensure our environment is respectful and nurturing and your child is encouraged to be resilient, problem solve and develop self-help skills that will enable them to be confident and competent learners. We look forward to getting to know you and your children.

The Keas Room (3 to 4 years)
Kia Ora and welcome to the Kea Room!
Teachers in our room provide nurturing care, continual learning experiences and the right amount of challenge for our young learners.
We base our philosophy of learning on a co-operative approach where teachers and children learn alongside and with each other, allowing for great imaginations and creativity as well as learning life skills through building relationships and making confident and positive decisions. Our daily routine consists of planned experiences as well as spontaneous free play. The set up of our environment supports this along with our curriculum areas and the Early Education Curriculum – Te Whāriki. We enjoy going on excursions and having people and experiences from our community come in to support our rooms interests to give them the best possible learning outcomes.
Our tamariki are curious learners and become more independent each day as we strive to provide them with the best quality care and guidance to help them prepare for the world around them.
We look forward to getting to know you and your child and having them as a part of our whānau.

The Fantails Room (4 to 5 years)
We see all children as competent and confident learners who take charge of their learning through play, observation and exploration of the world around them. We believe this important stage of a child’s development to be a valuable aspect of their growth as they are discovering who they are and where they fit into the world. We focus on essential social skills and independence. We support and guide each child to develop empathy, initiative and responsibility. We feel this can be accomplished by creating opportunities within specifically designed environments which both stimulate and challenge their interests, strengths and weaknesses.
Transition to school is an exciting journey for our children. Our passionate educators provide both play based and teacher led opportunities to learn numeracy, literacy, science and art through setting up a free play environment, classroom sessions and a dedicated ready for school program.
We recognise that all parents fulfil the most important role as a child’s primary caregiver, so we aim to build respectful, reciprocal relationships with all whanau. We believe in open communication and participation in the child’s holistic development and encourage all parents/whanau participation in their child/children’s learning.
We value individuality and respect each child’s ethnic and cultural background. Each child’s interests, aspirations and challenges are understood and respected. Our relationship with all tamariki is respectful, reciprocal and responsive.
